Advanced Topics: Tackle Operational Barriers to Improved Patient Care

Some sites find that their quality improvement efforts are stymied by broken operational systems. For example, planned care visits are worthwhile only when patients can secure an appointment with their providers in a reasonable amount of time. Many sites have found that addressing core operational issues, such as access to care, can facilitate better patient care. But, redesigning office practices can be a major undertaking.
