Combined Quality and Safety Ratings. The Patient Safety Indicators (PSIs) are a set of indicators providing information on potential complications following surgeries, medical procedures, and childbirth. Summary Scores combine measures of hospitals' performance on several of these indicators, such as how often patients die from one of six common conditions, or how often patients have one of 11 common safety problems in the hospital.
