Summary of Requests and Assistance Provided, May 2013 - August 2013
A summary of requests to the Center for Financing, Access, and Cost Trends (CFACT) for information to inform health initiatives, and of the assistance provided from May 2013 through August 2013.

Bernard		 Provided technical assistance to Phil Ellis from CBO on estimates of the number of ambulatory physician visits and associated expenditures, by primary care physicians versus specialists, by State and region. Also provided a copy of a recent publication entitled "Reconciling Medical Expenditures from the National Health Expenditure Accounts and MEPS" by Bernard, Cowan, Selden, et al., to enable CBO to account in its analysis for the differences in the State-level physician expenditures from the NHEA versus MEPS.

Davidoff		 Provided technical assistance to Jessica Banthin from CBO on the detailed income and asset data from the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey.

Bernard		 Provide nationally representative MEPS estimates of total/mean expenditures for physician visits by State, with further details by age groupings.

Selden		 Provided technical assistance to Nicholas Tilipman at the Council of Economic Advisors (White House) on the analytic content in the MEPS-Household Component employment section.
