This presentation is a demonstration of the South Carolina Provider Comparison
Network, and the slides take the viewer through a possible data search
that a provider might conduct on the Web. Because of the nature of this
demonstration, most of the slides are pictures of Web sites.

Time Period
The slide displays the S.C. Provider Comparison Network Web page that allows
a visitor to select his/her data.
The page
offers two options of time periods to select for comparison, one is the
"Latest One-Year Period" and the other is the "Latest-Three Year Period
Combined."

APR-DRGs
This
slide features an example of the data providers can view and compare about
their All Patient Refined Diagnosis Related Groups (APR-DRGs). A table entitled "Top 10 APR-DRGs" lists
the APR-DRGs by number and name such as:
- 372 Vaginal Delivery.
- 374 Vaginal Delivery with Sterilization &/OR
D&C.
- 370 Cesarean Delivery.
Then
the information on those APR-DRGs is further broken down into sub-categories
such as:
- Severity.
- Your Patients.
- % of Patients.
- Statewide.
- % of Patients.
- # of MDs with 10 or more cases.

Top Diagnosis/Procedures
This
slide features further breakdown of Top Diagnosis/Procedures for a specific
APR-DRG, for example, Cesarean Delivery. A table breaks down the APR-DRG
into Diagnosis/Procedure categories such as:

Cervical C-Section.
- Classical
C-Section.
And further
breaks down each Diagnosis/Procedure into:
- Severity.
- Your
Patients.
- %
of Patients.
- Statewide.

This
slide features a Web page showing the breakdown of the severity levels
of a Low Cervical C-Section. The levels are:

- Moderate.

severity level, the next Web page allows him/her to view comparisons of
