The National Advisory Council for Healthcare Research and Quality will meet on Friday, July 30. The Council provides advice to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality on matters related to AHRQ's customers and health services researchers.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will begin with an update on the status of the Agency's current research, programs, and initiatives. The Council will discuss these specific topics: demonstrations of two interactive Web-based data tools from AHRQ's Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUPnet) and Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPSnet), information technology activities and goals, and the federal plan for information technology in health care.
