  • Dr. Cary Gross and his team at Yale University were awarded a grant to develop a framework for determining which elderly patients are most likely to benefit from colonoscopy screening.
  • They found that a substantial number of Medicare beneficiaries received screening even when potential harms outweighed potential benefits.
  • They propose ways to improve screening for older adults with and without multiple chronic conditions.
