Slide 28: Forthcoming Release of 2011 Employer Health Insurance Offerings and Premiums

  • AHRQ's MEPS [Medical Expenditure Panel Survey] Insurance Component is an annual survey of 40,000 establishments providing national and State-level estimates of employer sponsored health insurance coverage (ESI):
    • Used to assess trends in health insurance coverage, ESI, insurance take-up, eligibility for subsidies.
    • Used to determine the small employer health insurance tax credit (part of ACA [Affordable Care Act]).
    • 2011 data release scheduled for this month.
