- To assess regional variation in hospitalizations by age groups using Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) national all-payer data for inpatient stays:
- Does Medicare population differ from other payers?
- To assess regional variation in hospitalizations by age groups using Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) national all-payer data for inpatient stays:
- Findings:
- Regional variation pattern using Medicare data differed from the pattern using all-payer data.
- The pattern was closer for subsets of the all-payer population at or near Medicare age.
