  • AHRQ's Clinical Data Pilot Projects (2007-2009):
    • Established the feasibility of linking electronic clinical lab data to discharge data and collecting POA in three States (Florida, Minnesota, and Virginia).
    • HCUP is building toolkits for other States to learn from the pilots' experiences.
  • Lab data toolkit addresses all facets of the data collection process:
  • POA toolkit will include:
    • Business case for POA (including example HAC [Hospital-Acquired Conditions] reports).
    • Tools to improve quality of data.
