Trauma-Informed Care and Healthy Pregnancy: What Providers Need to Know

This online presentation focuses on the impact of traumatic exposure on chronic disease and overall health and wellbeing of pre- and perinatal populations as well as the principles and importance of trauma-informed care. The presenter will provide scientific evidence on the health impact of traumatic exposure and the benefits of providing health care services that are trauma-informed. The presentation will also describe health care system elements and protocols that support the provision of trauma-informed care as well as additional resources to help care providers better understand trauma and trauma-informed principles and care.
