Khazeni, NayerInstitution: Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA Project Description: The goal of this project is to improve the accuracy of influenza transmission modeling to compare the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of alternative pandemic mitigation strategies. The modeling will expand previous efforts by expanding the geographic scope of the model in order to compare the effectiveness of healthcare utilization surge preparation strategies and to inform pandemic healthcare decision support. Specific aims include:
Career Goals: Dr. Khazeni is a Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician who is an instructor at the Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto and an Associate at the Center for Health Policy/Center for Primary Care Outcomes Research at Stanford University. She received her medical degree from Georgetown University and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Northwestern University and her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Yale University. She also completed a Masters in Health Services Research at Stanford University. Dr. Khazeni's career goal is to employ her diverse interests in medical, social, political and economic aspects of influenza toward mitigating future epidemics and pandemics.
