Stein, John Institution: University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Project Description: There are two main aims to this research:
Career Goals: Dr. Stein is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at UCSF. He received his M.D. from Dartmouth Medical School and served his residency in Emergency Medicine at Highland General Hospital in Oakland, CA. His primary career goal is to become an established leader in the field of acute healthcare research, specifically as it relates to the implementation and assessment of technologic improvements. Progress to Date: One hundred fifty-two patients have been enrolled thus far in the study and over 24 different physicians have participated. Preliminary work has begun on the cost effectiveness aim of the study. Future Plans: The grantee will investigate the supporting literature for the cost effectiveness research to make accurate point estimates to insure the model will have adequate generalizability. Dr. Stein will continue to enroll patients and pursue the academic requirement for his Masters. Highlights and Specific Accomplishments:
