Hopkins and University of Maryland, Baltimore Project Description: This project had been completed. It had two main aims:
Career Goals: Dr. Newhouse is in the Office of Research in the School of Nursing at the University of Maryland (UMD), Baltimore. She received her Ph.D. in nursing there as well. The former grantee is now positioned as an independent health services researcher with a clinical focus on improved patient outcomes. Progress to Date: The results from this project suggest higher shared vision and hospital quality and safety engagement have significant positive effects in the rural hospital environment. Lower barriers to evidence-based nursing practice are associated with higher levels of shared vision and quality and safety engagement and lower economic influences, isolation, and external nursing influences.
