Hospital Boston Project Description: This proposal had three main goals:
Career Goals: Dr. Lightdale is an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Boston. She received her MD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and was awarded a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Harvard. She plans to continue research focused in the area of healthcare delivery and improvement. She has become a leader in patient safety research, gastrointestinal endoscopy and pediatric sedation. Progress to Date: This grant has been completed. Findings suggested a clinically significant number of children appear agitated during procedural sedation and analgesia, increasing their risk for more traditional adverse events. Capnography may provide early warning for impending respiratory compromise. K-Generated Publications (selected):
