Project Description: This research had three main
aims:
- Identify pre-operative and operative characteristics predictive of
mortality in children with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS).
- Conduct
functional testing of these pediatric patients.
- Conduct yearly survey
of families with HLHS children.
Career Goals: Dr. Jenkins is an Assistant Professor
in the Department of Pediatrics and Community and Family Medicine. She received
her M.D. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
She served her residency in Pediatrics at Dartmouth where she later received
her Ph.D. in Outcomes Research. Throughout her career, Dr. Jenkins has sought
to improve the health outcomes of infants and children with congenital heart
disease.
