Institution: Medical College of Wisconsin Project Description: This research has two overall goals:
Career Goals: Dr. Brousseau is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He received his MD from the University of Virginia and did his residency in Pediatrics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He also did a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Brown University where he received his MS in Epidemiology. Dr. Brousseau has received numerous academic awards and was a Clinical Research Scholar at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He aims to become an independent health services researcher and an expert in the field of pediatric health care utilization. Progress to Date: The fourth year of the grant was primarily focused on the grantee developing qualitative skills through completion and analysis of focused interviews with parents and their children's primary care providers. All interviews of parents and primary care physicians have been completed, coded, and analyzed. In addition to the qualitative work, secondary data analyses continued. Two manuscripts have been accepted for publication along with two national research presentations. Future Plans: The last year of the grant will be spent on development and submission of an R01. The grantee will attend appropriate national meetings and maintain a small amount of time for clinical duties. Highlights and Specific Accomplishments:
