Bennett, Kevin Institution: University of South Carolina (USC) at Columbia Project Description: This research has three aims:
Career Goals: Dr. Bennett is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He received his PhD in Public Health Administration from the University of South Carolina and was an Assistant Professor at the Jiann-Ping School of Public Health at Georgia Southern University prior to accepting his appointment at USC. Dr. Bennett would like to build his career research agenda around improving health outcomes among vulnerable populations through improvements in the process of care using Health IT. Progress to Date: Dr. Bennett has completed activities associated with Aims #1 and #2. He established a chronic disease registry which enabled the formation of and distribution of provider centered report cards as outlined in Aim #3. Future Plans: The grantee will finalize the implementation of the report cards and the provider's use. Members of Dr. Bennett's research team will educate the providers on the use of the reports, how to properly document service provision so that it is reflected in the reports, and adherence to clinical guidelines Highlights and Specific Accomplishments:
