Alabama's Experience Using AHRQ's Quality Diagnostic Tools and Technical Assistance

Notes: Alabama Medicaid wanted to input the TFQ information into the calculator. However, we could not do so because the TFQ data did not include all of the variables that the ROI tool used. AHRQ and Thomson Reuters told Alabama that we could use the population data for the pilot counties in order to see the ROI for this subset of the State population. We had several discussions with AHRQ and Thomson Reuters to determine which information should be used to capture the variables, such as asthma-related ancillary services, outpatient visits, and prescription utilization.
