 Summary

To address a growing interest in assessing how patient-centered medical homes affect patients’ experiences with care, the CAHPS Consortium has developed the CAHPS Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Item Set. Incorporating this supplemental item set into the Clinician & Group 12-Month Survey creates a comprehensive survey to measure patients’ experiences with the domains of primary care that define a medical home.

This Webcast offered an opportunity to learn about AHRQ’s research on the medical home, the development of the CAHPS PCMH Item Set, and the ways in which this survey can be used. The Webcast also addressed the role of this patient experience survey in the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s PCMH Recognition Program.
