There is No Easy Way to Achieve System-Wide Patient Safety

People know that it will take hard work to make the system safer, but it seems sometimes like they want to take the easy way to get there.
Just from talking with clinicians, we are learning that HIT is a lot harder than people thought it would be; it's really a work in progress, in terms of building in decision support.
HIT also sometimes focuses on clinical side before it addresses workflow. If it interferes with workflow of the doctor, no benefit or even unintended negative consequences are possible.
