Workhours in the "reduced hours" programs declined substantially
Significant reductions between 2003-4 in:
- Mean weekly duty hours (76.6 to 68.0, p<0.001)
- Percent working over 80 hours per week (44.0% to 16.6%, p<0.001)
- But—little change in reported patient load, or volume of call-night activities
