Reduction in Adverse Drug Events
- Theoretically an integrated eMAR and EHR would help reduce adverse drug events (ADE) and medication errors
- July 2006 the Institute of Medicine's report on "Preventing Medication Errors" concluded that of the 1.6 million nursing home population in the U.S., 800,000 preventable ADEs could occur each year
